“Laugh every day; it awakens your spirit from within.”
The wise words of a very wise woman, and they really got me thinking: Why is laughter so vital, and how does it have the ability to awaken us and make us feel truly alive?

I am not a procrastinator, I swear! OK, who am I kidding? I have been known throughout my life to procrastinate when it comes to certain things – never for work – namely, when it comes to any creative endeavour. I don’t procrastinate for the sheer enjoyment of it, nor do I even do it intentionally. It happens quite naturally, probably because I find that I often perform my creative best when I’m under the gun and down to the wire.
Music is one of the greatest gifts of life, and has the power to not only transform us, but to connect us to something divine and otherworldly.
It is there to heal us in moments of sadness, and to elevate us when times are joyous. It can give us the chills, make us cry, or even render us speechless. Capable of provoking positive reactions, music also has the ability to help us reflect and foster a strong sense of identity and self-awareness.
In all honesty, I would be but a mere lost soul without music. It is part of my every day, and integral to my survival.

I am a huge believer in things happening for a reason. I had a rough day that tumbled into an even rougher evening, so when I happened upon this photo of muscle men toys that was recently added to Ryan McGuire’s collection of images on gratisography.com, my heart was instantly wrapped in a warm smile, tenderized by the fond memories of childhood that it sparked.

Somehow, in recalling those times, I believe that it can give us not only the strength we need to move forward, but a little spark to set our soul on fire once again.
There is something surreal about gazing up at the stars in a stunning night sky. This photo by Axel Antas-Bergkvist perfectly captures the wonder that only stargazing can bring.
